The 8-Hour Safe Driving Practices - Drug/Alcohol Program at Delta Driving School has the following objectives:
• Drivers will learn about how alcohol relates to their blood and its impacts on their brains and attitude. They will learn about BAC, showing the body's distribution of alcohol, and explaining how to spot an intoxicated driver.
• Showing relevant video clips that illustrate the detrimental effects that both victims and drunk drivers must endure for the rest of their lives.
• To promote the various preventative measures available and to provide each student with a personalized strategy for safe driving.
• To create an interactive atmosphere, enriched with discussions and student participations that support our class and fulfill the objectives of our curriculum.
• To educate parents about how the graduate licensing program works, the risks associated with inexperienced driving, and to support parents/ guardians in providing the required coaching

# Our state mandated that all first-time driver’s license applicants must attend and complete a mandatory 8-Hour Safe Driving Practices and DUI/ DWI course administered by a driving school.
# All applicants who complete the course will be assigned a course completion certificate which will be updated by the driving school in the CT DMV system upon course completion, and you will receive a copy of your certificate via email.
# All Teen (16 & 17)/ Adult who they don't have a Learners’ Permit yet, they can take this course and the school will grant a certificate for them when they obtain their permit (Documentation of the certificate depends on the permit number).
• Course Fee: ( pay $120.00 online or Zelle $120 to Delta Driving School at 203-435-6660 or $120.00 cash in person).
• Those who are older than 18 and have an out-of-state license are not required to take the 8-hour course.

Applicants with a Valid Foreign Driver's License:
Foreign adult applicants with a valid driver's license from their countries may schedule their DMV road test appointment without the need to wait for 90 days after their Learners Permit issuance date. If their foreign license is not in English, then they will have to get the license translated by one of the DMV-approved translators, and to take the original license along with its translation to the DMV on the date of their road test appointment. A basic requirement for all new drivers intending to get a Connecticut Drivers' License. All students will be awarded a course completion certificate. Adults can take the Road Test 90 days from their Learner's Permit issuance date. Adults with foreign driver's license may have the 90-day waiting time waived by the presenting their license at the DMV.
This is the minimum requirement for all teens. This class is 4 hours, 2 sessions. Teen's parent of guardian should attend 2 hours of this class. Parent/ guardian should provide the teen with 40 hours of on the road training at least. Teen can take the Road Test 181 days from their Learners Permit's Issuance date.
This course is an 8-hour of classroom, 2-session class Each Class is 4 Hours, including 2 hours of parent training followed by 8 hours of one-to-one on the road training and getting the teens ready for passing the Road Test as well as gaining good experience on driving maneuvers followed by using the school car for the DMV road test at Hamden DMV. We strongly recommend this class for teens. Teens can take the Road Test in 181 days from their Learners Permit's Issuance date.
If you were not sure about your driving skills or want to be well acquainted with what usually goes on in the Road Test prior to taking it, you can book a single hour of behind the wheel training for test preparation with one of our well experienced instructors. You will be driving through the Test routs and learning all the Test components including parking skills and 3-point turns.
We highly recommend taking at least 2 hours one-to-one in car training, as test preparation right before your Road Test. You will be acquainted with the routes of the test, the skills you will be asked to perform by the DMV Inspectors. Our instructors will explain to you in details how the Road Test goes and what you are expected to do, to pass it and get your license.
If you don't have a car ready for your Road Test, we can provide you with a full Road Test Service. To be able to use our car, the DMV will require you to use it for at least 2 hours, then we will issue you a certificate attesting to this training. if you are an existing student with Delta Driving School and already drove one of our cars for two hours or more, then this requirement doesn't apply to you. On your Road Test Day, we will pick you up, let you drive to the DMV, then take the Road Test. We will also bring you home after that.
If you already took at least 2 hours of in car training using one of our Drivers-Ed cars, You can book one of our cars to use in your Road Test. However, taking the Road test at any DMV other than Hamden, will incur extra cost of time and gas, as you will be driving our car from your home to the test center and we will give you a free ride to your home after the Road Test.
This package is for those who never drove a car before, and need help learning the basics of driving skills, then getting ready for their Road Test. Our experienced instructors will teach you how to drive and how to pass the Road Test. You will be using our car for your Road Test. We will pick you up, let you drive to the DMV, then take the Road Test. We will also bring you home after that.
This package is for the students who would schedule their Road Test at other DMV offices (Not the Hamden DMV.) Students will drive our car from their home to the DMV Center, then we will give them a free ride home after their Road Test. This will usually incur extra cost of time and gas. The 2 hours of in car training are mandatory by the DMV regulations when using a driving school's car for the Road Test.
